Fife Police Renew Appeal for Information Following Kelty Sexual Assault

Fife Police Division are renewing their appeal for information following serious sexual assault in a car in Kelty on Monday 6th July.

Detectives are continuing enquiries following a serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Kelty.

Around 11:15pm on Monday, 6 July, 2020, an 18-year-old woman was found in Limepark Crescent, Kelty. The woman disclosed to officers she had been attacked shortly before within a car at an unknown location in the Kelty area.

The suspect was driving a car and is described as having a tanned complexion, dark hair and a dark beard. We have no further information on the vehicle and officers are examining CCTV footage for any additional information it could provide.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan said: “The incident occurred between 10.55pm and 11.15pm approximately, and the victim had previously been in the area of Main Street, Kelty. I am appealing to members of the public who were in the area who may have seen something which could be significant to us.

“In particular, I would ask taxi drivers and motorists with dash cams to check their footage. It’s possible they have captured images of the vehicle which could prove vital in our enquiries. I am also appealing for the driver of a dark coloured car seen in the area of Seafar Drive, Blairadam Crescent and Limepark Crescent about 11.15pm to come forward as they may be a crucial witness. I’m aware this incident may cause concern for the local community, however, additional officers will be in the area and anyone with concerns can approach these officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4470 of 6 July, 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
